    3. HI Doris, I have done some research in those villages: Serres and Pinache, because they were both only a couple miles from where my family came. From the names I've seen they are both a mixture of the French Protestants (Huguenots) and Italian Protestants (Waldensians). As an interesting note, we always give Martin Luther credit for starting the reformation in the 16th century, but the Waldensians were started in Italy almost 400 years earlier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waldensians At 02:00 AM 10/1/2010, you wrote: >From: adodge74@aol.com >Subject: [HESSE] Baden -Huguenots ect.. >To: hesse@rootsweb.com > > I try to answer in privat via aol some of Kathy's Huguenot > questions and Baden. > There is a settlement in Baden by Karlsruhe well known town who > has Huguenot settlements. > Also one gent.has a wonderful website about them. > Many of them ended up in Morrow & Marion Co.,OH and some moved on to KS. > Our Group in Wuerttemberg are called Waldenser-Waldensians in English. > She can google a lot of info on the French Luth.Reformed > Refugges..also South of Frankfurt a/M,Waldeck and Hamburg. > Also there were discussions via the B-W group Kathy can find > via their Archives. > Just a thought.
