I do not know about nicknames for Appolonia, but if she is German she may also have had another name or more, and be called by one of he other namesl. I also have Danish ancestors with the name spelled in different ways .My closest ancestor with that name was born Ane Kirsten Abelone Larson, and was called Ane Anderson when she came to the US in 1853.
