Thanks! That's probably a 2-day (?) buggy drive. Not exactly "next door" - but maybe the boundaries were changing rapidly at that time, and who knows if there was a little village that was within the Hessen State line that was part of Darmstadt that was contiguous to Alzey? Or maybe they "sneaked" out of Alzey and said they were from Darmstadt so they wouldn't get caught? I don't quite know what to make of this yet. But with the names and birthdates of Mother and three of the kids exactly right-on, it's kind of hard to ignore this one. So....what's my next step? Any suggestions are MOST appreciated.
