Hello Karen, The site is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/transcribe/ if you need a translation service manned by real people, just subscribe. Yahoo has this excellent free service and you are dealing with people who understand the complexities of the German language. Yahoo is not a computer generated translator. Volunteers will transcribe old German script or translate German text into English. NEVER use computer generated translators like "Google "or "Altavista Bablefish" for something as important as the information you need translated from your book. When my Great-Grandfather did his Genealogy in the 1950s, he included some background on his wife's family that seems to extend into Germany. His Mother-in-Law was Elizabeth BOSS b. Sept. 30, 1847 in Kirchhain(I hope I have the right list). He stated that Elizabeth's parents were Frederick Boss and Charlotte Eibacher, and that Frederick and Charlotte and Frederick had two other daughters, Charlotte and Katherina. Katherina reportedly married a William Detner, with whom Elizabeth lived with after her Father died. The family lore has it that Elizabeth was quite unhappy living with the Detners, and came to New York. She married John George Woehrlin 1877 in New York, and had 4 children including my Great-Grandmother Louise Elizabeth Woehrlin. I thought The Count of Nassau-Dillenburg left the Old Belief to follow Luther, but in 1573 he joined the Reformierte. Is that correct? In 1700's I am told there are no Reformierte churches in Dillenburg? Is that correct? A bit of church history please. Best regards Hal

He was born in Lorchhausen 11 September 1824. We are researching the early Irmenach church records (it's up on the Hunsrück, not far SEE of Traben-Trarbach), and reference is clearly (and repeatedly) made to a gent from Gesert a/d Rhein. This is from some sort of virus that infects unprotected computers. For the longest time I was getting emails with attachments that had a virus attached. It got to the point that I did not open any email that I did not recognize the sender, and then I got one from me! That sort of shocked me. Always run a virus check on any attacements, even if you do know the sender. There are viruses that can get into address books that automaticly send to every one in the book with the little virus attached! Darmstadt is not in Oberhessen, it is in Sarkenberg. However, in the former Oberhessen province of the Grand Duchy of Hesse-Darmstadt, there are two towns with the name of Homberg. One is south east of Marburg and about 7 km northwest of the Autobahn.
