He was born in 1877 and married Jennie Henehan in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, I don't know the date. Together they had 5 children: Patrick, Mary, Anna, Bridget (Betty) and Margaret (or Marguerite). Margaret is the youngest - born around 1920. She died in infancy in an orphanage. Apparently, when Joseph died, Jennie was unable to support the children. (My understanding is that Joseph's parents might have kicked her out after his death.) Jennie eventually got on her feet enough to reclaim the oldest 4...they moved to Chicago some time in the 20s.
