I remain among the many who have hit a wall on Hensley roots in Kentucky and who seek the elusive link to a "James" Hensley. My last proven link is a Thomas Hensley born in Clark Cty KY in 1826. In 1848, he married a Nancy DAVIS in Clark Cty Indiana (no luck chasing the many DAVIS's in Indiana either). Their oldest children were born in Olham Cty, KY. Younger children born in McLean Cty ILL. In 1880 census Thomas indicates that his father (James?) was born in VA around 1787. There is a James in Jefferson Cty in 1830 with an unnamed son born in the right time frame to be Thomas but this is unproven. I think only Frances, John, Lucinda and William are proven children of James but that other children may include George W, Nancy, Nathan, and three other unnamed females. Hoping someone can confirm or support this possible connection between Thomas and James.
