Yours is the first line I have came across that has a John W. my ggrandfathers name was John Lewis Whitfield Hensley so I have been told, I wonder if the Lewis was because they lived in Lewis Co. Tn. Hi Edna, I have found no connection to your Hensley ancestors to this point. The John W. Hensleys I have were born in Henry Co. VA and settled in nearby Rockingham Co. NC. They were John Walter and John William "Weese" Hensley, sons of Henry C. Hensley b. 1855 in Patrick Co. VA. Wish I could be of help. So far it seems my ancestors tended to stay in VA.
