Just wanted to give my line. I have the same unconfirmed information which goes back to 1583 on William Hensley in Tiverton, Devon, England, but will skip down to Benjamin and Elizabeth Hichman Hensley. Benjamin was born in 1738 in Albermarle County, VA. & died Feb. 29, 1803 in Albermarle Co., Va.. He first married Elizabeth Hickman and was a private in the Revolutionary War. They had a son Henry Harry Hensley b. ca. 1754. Henry Harry Hensley was born ca. 1754 in Albermarle Co., VA. and died in Buncombe Co., NC. (now Yancey Co., NC). Henry Harry Hensley was first married to Mary Elizabeth Halen and they had four sons. Henry Harry Hensley's second wife was Barbara Angel (they had 10 known children). Barbara was the daughter of Charles Angel & Elizabeth Washington. Elizabeth Washington is suppose to be a cousin of President George Washington. (I haven't confirmed this tho). Henry Halen Hensley (son of Henry Harry Hensley/Barbara Angel) was born 1777 in Buncombe/Yancey Co., NC.. He married ca. 1803 Mary W. Howard dau. of Samuel/Chloe Osborne Howard. They had 11 known children. George Washington Hensley born October 22, 1809 Buncombe Co., NC. (son of Henry Halen/Mary W. Howard) and died 1868 - 1872 in Smith, Harlan County, Kentucky. He married Ruth Edwards ca. 1829 in NC.. they had 11 children 8 of which were born in NC. and the last three in Harlan Co., KY.. This family migrated to Harlan Co., KY. in 1849 and are listed in the 1850 Harlan Co., KY. census. William Burton Hensley (Gabby Burt) born March 18, 1832 in Yancey Co., NC. & died March 14, 1906 in Smith, Harlan Co., KY. (son of G. W./Ruth Edwards Hensley). Married first Lavina Earnest in Harlan Co., KY. February 3, 1853. They had 7 children. Lavina died 1868. William Burton Hensley married second Judy Josephine Hensley 1869 (dau. of Samuel/Martha "Patsy" Carter Tipton). To them were born 10 children. Nicey Ann Hensley born August 19, 1884 in Harlan Co., KY & died January 24, 1937 on Brush Mountain in Hensley Settlement, Bell Co., KY. (dau. of William Burton/Judy Josephine Hensley Hensley. Nicey Ann Hensley married first to David Hall with no issue. They were divorced very shortly after they were married. Nicey Ann married second her first cousin William Sherman Hensley (son of James Madison/Arena Helton) (NOTE:) (James Madison Hensley was a brother to Nicey Ann's father William Burton Hensley)... Nicey Ann Hensley & William Sherman Hensley had 19 children 17 of which were born on Hensley Settlement Bell County, KY.. James Madison Hensley born 1849 Yancey Co., NC. & died 1916 Wallins Creek, Harlan Co., KY. (son of George Washington Hensley & Ruth Edwards). Married first Sarah Jane Daniels ca. 1865 and had 2 children. James Madison Hensley next married Arena Helton Dec. 27, 1868 and they had 13 children. Arena Helton was the dau. of Elijah Helton & Nancy Caroline Stepp. William Sherman Hensley born November 6, 1881 Wallins Creek, Harlan Co., KY. & died May 5, 1979 Middlesboro, Ky.. (son of James Madison/Arena Helton) married his first cousin Nicey Ann Hensley, mentioned above, and they had 19 children. Shirley Ann Hensley born May 19, 1914 Hensley Settlement Bell Co., KY. & died March 10, 1987 dau. of (Nicey Ann/William Sherman Hensley Hensley) married first Steve Daniels with no issue. Married second Lomas Oplinger and had 3 sons Randy, Ronnie, & Jerry Lynn Oplinger. Married third James Henderson (Hence) Mullins with no issue but did raise Hence Mullins dauther Kaye Lillian Mullins my stepsister. George Randy Oplinger born September 22, 1942 Monroe, Michigan & moved back to the beautiful mountains of Harlan County, Kentucky 3 months after birth and was raised there. Presently living in Hamilton, Ohio. I'm not hardly dead yet so the rest is private. Randy Oplinger
