I can confirm this information about the Mary Ann Hensley in my family, but I don't think our MAH's are on in the same! Our MAH was born in 8 July 1852 (we believe Ohio), and died 9 Oct 1880 Washington Township, Jasper County, Iowa. She is buried in the Vandalia Cemetery, Des Moines Township, Jasper County, IA (Sources: Jasper County Iowa Cemeteries, compiled by Jasper County Genealogical Society and Obituaries 1880-1890 from the Prairie City News files). MAH m. Daniel Brown Hayes 25 Feb 1871 (Sources: Polk County Iowa Marriages 1867-1871, book B, page 23, and Marriage Register records from Polk County Courthouse, Des Moines, Iowa) The marriage license is witnessed by William Hensley. From, my great grandmother, Martha Grace Hayes' SSN request card I have been able to trace her this far. So, I know I what I have, but cannot get any further back to definitely tie her to any other family. At one time I thought William was her father, but he may be her brother, or cousin??? An as I've found out, there are MANY Mary Ann Hensleys! If your Hensley's are from Audubon County, Iowa, you might check out the biographical sketch of that county. There are several Hensley's listed there! Good Luck!!! My only help, I think is to eliminate one other possibility!
