Seeking information on Chrisley Hensley born ca 1740, Rev War., married Catherine--------------Hensley, 11 known children by Catherine. Who were parents of Catherine? Last Record was Washington Co. Va. Catherine married 2nd William Davis, 2 children. Thanks
I'm sorry, but I made an error in the attached post. Jame's mother Catherine was widowed by his father ? Hensley. She later married William Davis. (I had erroneousley typed her as "widow of William Davis", she was actually the widow Hensley who married William Davis.) Sorry for the mistake. I have him as being married to a Martha. Perhaps this is the case, if Elizabeth was his second wife. I don't have the names of his children. James' parents were ? Hensley and Catherine (widow of William Davis). His brothers and sisters were Daniel, William, Robert, John, Stephen, James, George, Mary "Polly", and Christley. I don't know if this is much help, but I would like to hear from you to see if we could exchange more information. --Vicky M <mailto:[email protected]> -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [<mailto:[email protected]>] Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 1999 3:45 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [HENSLEY-L] Seeking information on Elizabeth Hensley born Kentucky Elizabeth Hensley in Coles Co. Guys, My great grandmother Florence "Mae/May"Hensley, was either a Hensley or married a Hensley(no one knows) and was from Indiana. She moved to Mo. for her first of 2 children was born there at Popular Bluff in 1886(Alice Viola Hensley). Florence Mae's husband either died or they divorced sometime between 1886-1890. She remarried a Chester Murphy in 1891 and was found in the Arkansas 1900 census with another child born in 1892 in Arkansas. Would you have any records of a Hensley family in Indiana about 1870/80 with a daughter named Florence or Mae in it? She was born about 1863 Ind. Hello Has anyone made a connection to Benjamin Hensle who filed his will in Richmond Co., VA on 28 Jan 1699/1700? He left his estate to Benjamin Jr. and to his wife Beatrice. Here is what I know about this family. Benjamin Jr.'s wife's name was Elizabeth and they were in King George Co. along with a William Hensley at the same time Samuel Hensley was in the county. They were close because Samuel posted bond for both men when they got hauled into court. I've never found a specific record that ties them together. Benjamin jr, had a son named Benjamin who married Elizabeth Hickkum. This Benjamin got a land patent in Fredericksville Parish. This parish was originally in Hanover Co., then Louisa Co., and then Albemarle Co. as the county boundries were changed over the years. The land was along Wolf Trap Branch which is located just north of Charlottesville, VA. Benjamin Hensley III(Henslee) had four sons:Benjamin (he married an Elizabeth too) John, James, and Samuel that I've been able to identify. Maxfield may have been one also. There was a William Hensley who owned land in the vicinity, but I haven't been able to link him with Benjamin Hensley III. It's possible that Maxfield belongs with William Hensley. Tom Hensley
