    3. Hi to all, Does anyone have any information on Mary HENSLEY who married Christopher FRANK, April 16, 1788, Rockingham Co., VA. The Marriage Register has his name as Christian but the bond has Christopher. The marriage bond has working I haven't seen before. It states, "The condition of the above obligation. . . . bove named Christopher FRANK hath this day obtained license for marriage with Mary HENSLEY," then the word daughter is crossed out and the words,"a base born child of Elizabeth HENSLEY, Decd." Has anyone else seen the wording used in this bond? Who is Elizabeth and where is she from? 1788 is the earliest record I have found for a Hensley in Rockingham Co. Who is Christopher Frank?     3. I just got my copy of the message that I sent to list about Hickman Hensley. I did not realize until I read my own mail that I had omitted something very important. That is credit where credit is due. The excerpt on Hickman Hensley was not my work but someone else's. When I did the cut and paste I missed one line - (Below is a page from Marty Grant, a Hensley researcher. ) As it turned out is was a very important line and my apologizes to Marty Grant and to the list.     3. Trying to find out who where the parents of Margaret Isabelle Hensley, born about 1861 died 1933, married to James Curry. Children were Victoria Curry married to Ed Arnold, Lurah Curry married to Luke Hinson, Grover Curry married to Aszl Hinson, Cora Curry married to George Suratt, Lillian Curry married to Newt Bates, see below. Obituary in Buffalo River Review December 28,1988 Linden, Tennessee Mrs. Lillian Bates, 86, died December 24,1988 at Perry County Nursing Home. Funeral services were 2:00 December 26th at Shelton Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial was in Harts Field Cemetery in Brazil, Tennessee. She was a native of Perry County; daughter of the late Jim and Isabelle Hensley Curry; homemaker married to the late Newt Bates and was a member of the church of Christ. She is survived by four grandchildren, Harold Bates of Rock Port, Illinois, Raymond Bates and Dave Bates and Patty Bates all of California. Gene [email protected]

Both of these families are mid to late 1880's and are in the Lewis/Hickman/Perry County areas. Their families are also similar and I need help trying to straighten them out.     3. Is there anyone out there who has anything on the family of General Lewis Hensley, son of Lewis L. Hensley, son of Larkin and Margaret Hensley, son of Hickman Hensley? General Lewis was born and lived a portion of his life in Lewis County, Tennessee. I have several blanks as well as a lot of information that doesn't add up. I need all the help I can get. Thanks in advance for help. Gene - [email protected] Hickman Hensley and three of his sons were some of the first settlers in area that was to become Lewis County. They were in middle Tennessee area prior to 1800's and probably moved their families in about 1806. No doubt they scouted the Lewis County area prior to their move. This Hickman is the one who had one wife, Agnes Fisher and another woman he did not marry - Elizabeth Rentfro.

    3. I would be interested in any responses to Nadine. I have a Robert Hensely b.c. 1758 in Culpeper Co. VA. He m. Eleanor COVINGTON d/o Wm. COVINGTON and Frances KAVANAUGH. I know they lived in KY for a while, and I believe they were in Jefferson Co. IL in 1830. I have wondered if the Robert in Hawkins Co. 1840, was the same one.     3. Looking for confirmation that George W. Hensley, born 1867, and his wife Rebecca Buckner Hensley , born 1866, are in Madison Co., NC at the 1900 census. Children at the time would be Oscar B., Herman, Robert, and Bertha. Other children born at or after the 1900 census would be Silas, Althea, Nebraska "Brasky", Blanche, Brank, and James Clifford. I am a descendant of James Clifford Hensley. George W. Hensley is the son of Amos Hensley and the grandson of Wallace Hensley, both of Yancey Co., NC. Would appreciate any info on the above.
