The following is information about my HINSLEYs, who I have as far back as ROBERT HINSLEY b.ca1825, TN?. I need his marriage record, and the names of his parents and siblings. The following data is open to correction and/or addition: My ancestor was ROBERT HINSLEY b.abt.1825, TN?, d.aft.1880. His parents were possibly born in NC. Robert married JANE FOWLER. They lived at Temperance Hall, DeKalb Co. TN.     3. I've been eavesdropping so long... I felt I should try to get into the action! I don't have much concrete information since I'm working from a scrap of paper my father left behind. Our line has pretty much stayed in the western Virginia, eastern Tennessee areas (Burnsville NC, Boone's Creek TN, Pig Pen Creek NC, Johnson City/Kingsport TN).     3. I am trying to locate the parents of a John Hensley, born ca 1815 and married a Mary Sullens in Missouri. They are listed on the 1850 census for Missouri. I know that Mary Sullens father was Zachariah Sullens and her mother was Ophra(y) Greenstreet. Anyone have information or either? Thanks. Sue, My James Hensley according to the 1850 Knox County Census Tn. age was "29",in the 1860 Clinton County Census Ky. his age "39",in the 1870 Overton County Census Tn. age "51", in that last year he was married to Nancy Jane ?. That puts his birth hopefully around 1820/1821 in Virginia. Maybe I should ask if anyone knows about Elizabeth ? Hensley who was born about 1822/23 in Virginia and died about 1862-1867 in Overton County Tenn. or Nancy Jane ? Hensley born 1841/1842 in Tenn. married to James. I don't know but I am not giving up. Family tradition has it that Mary's unnamed husband was the son of an unnamed Methodist Minister Hensley and a Full Blood Cherokee woman. does any of this sound familiar? Ron
