Our John Motley Hensley was married twice, but as far as I know, was not married to a McCarter. Good Hunting, Avery Hensley
Kelley, Yes, this Michael Hensley was known as "Red Mike". There was another Michael known as "Black Mike." I am from Red Mike's father's, brother's line. Marty Grant has most of ours although there are a few errors that he has yet to get around to fixing. After you check it out contact me and we will compare notes. I only have your gal as Mary E. Hensley with no spouse at all as yet so I would like to have another generation or so. Does anyone have information on this William Hensley who emigrated to America in 1635, 23 yrs old, born ca 1612.? I am sure will connect to my Virginia Hensleys. I may never prove it. Ship passengers were 144 from England to Va. Will exchange information. Thanks. RB
Kelley, do you have any family tradition around an ancestor who was full blood Cherokee? I know precious little about my Hensleys, but have a little i will happily share. Ron http://community.webtv.net/oitsuron/RONANDLUELLAEDWARDS
I believe what your looking for can be found at www.martygrant.com he has an amazing amount of info on the entire Hensley Clan. You'll be surprised how everyone has put together the different lines. Hope you find what your looking for and more. Tay Hensley Freels
Does anyone have any info on the following HENSLEY family? I think this is my Mary Elizabeth HENSLEY, first wife of William ALDRIDGE (1849-1921). I haven't ordered the records to prove this yet as I will be in Greene Co. for the Aldridge Reunion the first Saturday in July and plan to do as much research on this as possible in one day...ha ha. Michael HENSLEY (1828-1900) married Christina FOWLER (1833-1903). Their children: William Anderson 1850-1934 Mary b1852 Thomas Nathaniel 1865-1943 Benjamin 1866-1950 John Jane Ester 1862-1947 Hyder/Joseph H. Van/Val Jim/James Sarah Alsy J/Alice Stuart Martha Michael's parents were Benjamin HENSLEY (1795-unk) and Mary Ann McDAVID. Their known children: Michael John Ismon Any help would be appreciated and would help me eliminate researching the wrong lines while in Knoxville. Thanks, Kelley
I am interested in John MOTLEY and the HENSLEY connection. Is this the same John MOTLEY that was married to a McCarter at one time? Is there a connection to Drucilla MOTLEY and HENSON lineage in this MOTLEY line? I'm sorry to say,"No!" That is one branch of the genealogy where info is scarce. They do not, however, appear to be from Brown or Clermont Counties in Ohio where most of my other maternal families resided. Hopefully more info will come along.
