David married a Sarah Katherine Letitican Hensley who was his second cousin and her father was Emanuel Hensley her grandfather was James Hensley. David and Tish as sarah katherine Letitican was called has Dillie Mae, Lillie ( died young) Myrtle, Levi (died at 15) Laincania (died young) James (died young) Bertha, Gladys and Earl. Well hmm where to start... well we have many family records and photos including the Hensleys, the Krogers, the Greens, and the Brewers. I only mention that because I see another poster was researching the Brewers. I have a small journal that my grandfather and I started working on when I was a small child which contains some information on Fred so lets start there.. Freds date of birth is unknown but he was born near Childress, TX son of Joseph Smith Hensley & Rebecca Brewer Hensley. Here I should point out Reba and Rebecca were not the same person there was Rebecca Brewer- Hensley and Reba Green. Fred and Alabama "Bam" Green-Hensley had 4 children. Isaac Smith Hensley, Howard Waylon "Bully" Hensley Willie Mae "Tootsie Bang Swing" Hensley and Delana Hensley. Fred cut timber, hauled lumber, surveyed land, and did road construction. He was also well known for moon shine whiskey. He had hobbies like hunting & fishing. Fred was hardworking and stern little tolerance for a "slack jaw". One of his favorite dinners was squirrel with biscuits and gravy. Although Fred was employed, they lived a very humble lifestyle often going without shoes and jackets in the winter. One winter Isaac was deathly ill and Fred wrapped him in his coat and carried him 15 miles in the snow with no coat and no shoes. They made it to the doctors office but they both almost died that night that was in 1939. After Bam and Fred separated , she remarried, and we don't know what happened in Fred's later years but he was buried in Tennessee. We have tons of pictures that Bam left to us including family reunions, childhood pics, report cards, photos from the mines, and my grandma found some flyers for a sale on the Henry Koger farm (1943).
