His mother was Sarah Sallie Basket Harris. He's father's name is not listed on Kentucky Birth Records, his mother is listed as Sarah Hensley. On the 1870 Kentucky, Clay, census he, his mother and two half-sisters are using Harris as their last names. I do not know exactly where he compiled it from, but I had gotten a much smaller version of it some time ago from another cousin in CA. Do you know what Lydia's last name was? The file says that Davis was born about 1750 in Greenville Co., SC. One of his sons was Francis who was born 1779 in SC, died 1850 in Cole County, MO. He married a Nancy (?). I was not able to pull up your family tree yet. Sometimes I'm not very good at navigating these systems. I do not actually belong to Ancestry, so don't know if I will be able to see it yet. Re: Willis, the file I have says that Willis Sr. was born 1770 in SC, and died late 1840's in Casconade County, MO. He married Susannah McCourtney. I don't have any other info about Davis except his birth, died 1814 in Saint Louis Co., MO., buried Bonhomme Bottoms, Saint Louis, MO. That he married Lydia (?) and listed his children. I have some information on Davis Hensley, but nothing prior to 1781, when he may have sent a substitute to the Guilford courthouse (NC)during the Revolution. I suspect he came to South Carolina from another state. How do you know that Willis was born in SC in 1770? I would be glad to share what I have with you. Sarah Jane Thompson may have been a relative as one of Willis' sisters married George Thompson prior to coming to Missouri. The Montgomery KY early marriages are non-existent. My husband is Robert Hensley. We are trying to find more info on his family line. We now know that his grandfather 4x was Davis Hensley and he was born in Greenville, SC about 1750. He married a Lydia (?). Davis's son Willis Hensley Sr was also born in Greenville, SC 1770. Willis married Susannah McCourtney. They obviously moved to KY sometime after that because Willis's son Willis Jr was born in Montgomery Co, KY about 1795. Willis Jr. married Mary Jane Tackitt. Then Willis Jr's son Phillip D. Hensley was born in Gasconade County, MO June 7, 1830. Phillip married (1) Sarah Jane Thompson. Would love hearing from anyone who knows this line of Hensleys.
