That would make us third cousins I believe. I have been researching the Locklear/Bennett family for over 35 years. I remember going up to visit aunt Jesse with my father, Bill back in the late 60's - 70's. I remember Venita and Sam, but not much more than that as I was only 10 or 12 years old then. Is it possible to obtain a copy of aunt Jesse's obit you mentioned and could you tell me where she is buried? T. Hensley born 1842 in Greenbrier county, Va.. I have no idea who her family Mother, Father, sister or brother. She married my ggreatfather in 1865, William P. Bartram Cabel county, Va., my Grandfather name is Jesse Bartrum, that must be where the name changed from am to um, at least Jesse's linage did. When William P. passed she married Peter Musser, in 1889, she married Peter Musser under the name of Hensley In 1900 she was living with her son, my great uncle in Ohio a short time later, Uncle Burr and family moved back across the river to Ky. BUT NO Affie, 1900 was the last anyone, well at least record wise, Uncle Burr and family is all gone home now to be with our Lord. I have been told all my life that Affie was full blood Indian. Hi everyone, my 5th great grandmother in my maternal line was Elizabeth Hensley b ca 1766 in VA. She married Jesse Gough. There doesn’t seem to be any records of her parents other than the bondsman for Elizabeth’s marriage was Samuel Hensley. I have done dna testing and have a number of cousin matches who descend from Benjamin Hensley and Martha Ellis and his son Benjamin who married Elizabeth Hickman. I believe Elizabeth was the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Hickman. If anyone can help me with this, I will appreciate it. Jesse Gough’s brother Bailey Gough married Dulley Hensley. Some people think that Dulley and Elizabeth were sisters. I think they were cousins. I am interested in learning about the Hensley’s. I would like to know what kind of people they were, what their religious affiliation was, if any, what were their traditions, any stories that are known about them. I know that some of the Hensley’s settled in Harlan Co., KY along with other family such as the Caywood’s, Howards, Christian’s, Wright’s and others. Thanks, Kathleen

He was a son of William S. Hensley, who came to Jefferson Co. Missouri along with three brothers in 1826, from Kanawha Co., VA (now West Virginia). Clifton's son, William C. (1852-1910), was my great grandfather, who lived in the Burton, KS area. His daughter, Eva Clara, was my paternal grandmother. My wife and I just made a trip to MO to follow up on some geneology leads. We located Clifton and Adaline's graves just east of Columbia in an old Baptist Church cemetery. The cemetery is Olivet, at Olivet Rd. and Route WW. The single monument is close to the old church and angled toward the SE (one of only two set that way - toward the church).
