    1. [HENRY] Thomas HENRY - 103 Whitechapel, in 1794

    3. Hi Listers I have (at last) found a Thomas HENRY in London - who looks the right age to be the father of my 2g-grandfather Frederick HENRY): www.londonancestor.com/kents/kents-h.htm Kent's DIRECTORY For the Year 1794. Cities of London and Westminster, & Borough of Southwark *** Henry Thomas, Grocer, 103, Whitechapel *** And two generations of my Australian ancestors kept shops, too). Thomas is listed as a *clerk* on Fred HENRY's death certificate - but perhaps he meant *Salesclerk* (I know that in American English, *clerk* is still used in that way). The Whitechapel address is nice, too. I did a Google search today, and discovered that Jack the Ripper was aka The Whitechapel Murderer. (My Frederick HENRY, 2G-grandfather, was shipped to Oz in 1830. Life sentence for stealing a handkerchief, value 3 shillings. He was 21, then). Grateful for any assistance with Thomas HENRY, or 103 Whitechapel (Census?). I'm still flushed with excitement from this discovery - this is my last (and *hardest*) research line. Oh, wife's name was Elizabeth JONES (or possibly JOHNS). I have no knowledge of Fred's siblings - but his Aussie children included male twins, if that helps ;-)) Greetings from Oz Lesley (Melbourne, Australia ... where it is definitely *winter*)
