He married Fannie McMaster in Feb.1812 and had 12 children, most of them born in Crawford County, PA. Here is an excerpt from a biography written about him: "Colonel Henry was a native of Fayette Co. PA but farmed in Crawford Co. He took part in the War of 1812 and was later a Colonel in the Pennsylvania State Militia Regiment. He also represented his district for 3 terms in the state legislature. In 1850, Col.Henry moved from Crawford County, PA because of an epidemic in the area and came to Princeville, IL with his family, as he was a man of some means. He lived a retired life once coming here until his death at 84 years. Colonel Henry was preceded to Illinois by several years by his sons William, John Martin and Robert Henry. " It's possible that James Henry's father spelled his name HENREY, since we've found several possibles in Fayette Co, including a James Henrey from Dunbar Township and a John Henrey from Tyrone Township.
