My 3rd GreatGrandparents are: John Kaler was born abt. 1799 in Marion Co., Oregon. Catherine Henry was b.abt 1803 in Marion Co. Oregon. They were married probably in Marion Co. Oregon, and moved their family to Fulton Co., Illinois in 1839. Their son, Joseph Franklin Kaler, was born in Crawford Co., Ohio, so they had to be living there before moving to Illinois. John Kaler died in 1862, and Catherine Henry Kaler died in 1871. According to our family ancestry, both John and Catherine were buried on their home farm in Cass Twp., Fulton Co., IL. The place of birth for their children was probably Oregon or Ohio. Their children were: 1. John Kaler: m. Edy Hedge in Fulton Co., on 30 Nov 1854; no known descendants. 2. Peter Kaler - no information on him 3. Abraham Kaler, b. abt 1818, m. Lydia Louisa Bonney 22 Aug 1858 in Fulton Co., IL. No known descendants. 4. Hannah Kaler, b. 12 July 1828, d. 6 Dec. 1903 in Fulton Co., IL., Hannah m. Jacob Goodell, son of Samuel Goodell, place or date of marriage unknown. They had a son, Ray Goodell. No more information on him. 5. Joseph Franklin Kaler Sr., my 2nd Greatgrandfather, b 16 Apr 1820 In Crawford Co, (I think this is in Ohio) My information on his children from his marriage to Mary Bonney Kaler is very limited except for his one son Joseph Franklin Jr, who was my Greatgrandfather. I would really like to find anything on the rest of the children from Joseph Kaler Sr. if anyone has any. In addition to my Great Grandfather, the children were: Henry Hunter, Oscar and Sarah. 6. Recently the descendants of Mary Magdaline Kaler, b. abt 1825 in Marion Co., Oregon, m. 3 Aug 1843 in Fulton Co, IL to George Isaac Rhodes, and died 28 June 1855 in Oregon, have linked Mary Magdaline as a child of John and Catherine. The Fulton Co. History or Kaler family genealogy had not mentioned this 6th child but according to the Rhodes family records Mary Magdaline is the daughter of John and Catherine Kaler. (If she is their daughter, John and Catherine would have moved to Ohio before their son Joseph was born, then back to Oregon before Mary Magdaline was born.) I am searching for information on the ancestry of both John Kaler and Catherine Henry. Also, any more information I can find on their children. If anyone has any information on them, I would very much appreciate it.
