She was born July 10,1749, Hanover County, VA. md Gen William Campbell who was in the Battle of Kings Mountain in the Revolutionary War. He died while in the military before the end of the war. In 1782 she md Gen William Russell, settled in Saltville, Va area. Were devout Methodists, opening their home to the Methodist circuit rider preachers. There is a church in that area named Elizabeth Chapel, honoring Madam Russell as she became known. Widowed 2nd time Jan 14, 1793. She moved to the Aspenville area, where she died March 18,1825 and is buried in a small area in Aspenville. Today the area is known as Chilhowie, Seven Mile Ford in Smyth County Area, VA.
