A retired farmer, he was born in Daviess County on February 19, 1876 and had lived in Ohio County most of his life. He was the son of J. S. and Esther Smith Henry. He was married to Miss Eva Turner on March 5, 1899 and she preceded him in death on April 17, 1965. Mr Henry was a Follower of Jesus Christ. Survivors include three sons, J. V. Henry, Route 3, Beaver Dam, Kigel Henry, Route 3, Hartford, and Byron Henry, Route 4, Utica, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Robert Purcell, Owensboro, and a brother, Byron H. Henry, Alabama. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 16 at the Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home by Evangelists Loyd Smith and Mary Lindley. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Beaver Dam. Pallbearers were B. Sterling Ambrose, Virgil L. Henry, John Tichenor, Harry D. Tinsley, Virgil Turner and Jamie C. Henry.
