    2. I'm very please to annouce my cousin Marvin sent out his DNA sample Friday. I will make sure the results are posted to the Henry list. We decend from William & Elizabeth "Jones" Henry. William served in the Rev. War from Botetourt Co., VA. William and his brother John, both stated in their Rev. War pension application they "where born in the State of Virginia, Berkley County and shortly removed by his parents to Botetourt County in Va." The brothers migrated from Botetourt Co., VA, William, settling in Jones Cove, Sevier Co., TN, John, settling in Cosby, Cocke Co., TN. residing about 10 miles from each other. It's believed they had a brother Robert (per William Henry's land grant: lying in the District south of the French Broad and Holston on the East Fork of the Little Pigeon River and bounded by the lands of Robert Henry) which is the only documentation for any Robert Henry residing in Sevier County for that time frame. I will add that there was a courthouse fire in both Cocke & Sevier County courthouses, all the early records where lost, but there is a paper trail. There is a Robert Henry in Cocke County no documentation is available from the courthouse and no records for a Robert Henry serving in the Rev. War. from Cocke County. He may have served and died prior to having the opportunity to apply for a pension. It's believed he was a younger brother. I have documented other siblings for William & John but have not located anything for any Robert at this time. In the over 30 years of researching the Henry's, I have rarely seen a middle name given prior to 1800 and this is not just in the Henry lines. To add to the confusion William, John, Hugh, Robert and James are very common given names which only adds to the mystic of the Henry's. My William Henry m. Elizabeth Jones and his son William Henry Jr. m. Sally Jones. I've had an easier time researching these lines than my Henry's. Despite what numerous people believe, through my documentation they where NOT RELATED LINES. Families migrated together, with my Henry's they migrated with Elizabeth's maternal line which I have documented in the adjoining county. Patti
