    2. Hi Virgene, Well, your message kinda stumped me as the Underwood stands out more than Henry in this case. Our Henrys had been in the US for many years prior to the 1800's. Do your Underwood ancestors date back to Sussex Co. VA? If so I'd be most happy to share information with you regarding this line. The name on the report is definitely spelled Patilla, but I've found reference to the Potillo's around Mecklenburg and Brunswick Counties. Also, a reference to the Patilla or Pattilla surname being Scotch. I've seen so many spellings of this name that there is a good chance the spelling of Pentilo is in this same category. My line regarding this name of Patilla is through a Mason b. 1842 and Henry b. 1846. This Mason's parents were from Sussex and Greensville Counties in VA and also entail the Newsom surname.
