    3. Needed Info: The parents or sibling's to this John W. Henry HENRY, John W. Born 1843/44 Jefferson County VA. or PA. < Civil War Enlistment papers say Jefferson PA but Marriage Lic. says Jefferson VA. He enlisted in Co. D 1st. Reg. Mich Light Art'y., on 29th of January 1864 at Coldwater Michigan and it states he is 20 years old. Promoted to Corp March 12, 1865. Mustered out on Aug 3, 1865 at Jackson MI. Occupation: Farmer John W. Henry married Mary E. Ramsdill 28th of November 1867 at Quincy, MI. Witnesses were William Ramsdill and Henry Ramsdill. Minister R.W.Lockhart. In 1877 John W. Henry sells the farm in Butler Twp, Branch County, MI. John W. Henry died on Aug 17th 1880 in Texas Territory of accidental self inflicted gun shot and was buried where he fell. He had at the time of death 3 children: Marlan L. Henry b 1868 Ida Grace (Henry) Ransford b 1870 She married Geo. Ransford Marshall D. Henry b 1872 He married Daisy Haight of Coldwater MI. In window's pension records: Mary E. Henry had affidavits signed by the following names as well as witnesses and others : Clark D. Day / Edwin E.Kidder & John O. Kidder / Lorenzo B.Ramsdill -Mary's Father / Atty Chester D. Berry / Dell Day / Charles W. Bennett / James R. Dickey County Clerk / Atty Daniel D. Waggote/Ira W. Day/ On June 19, 1919 Mary E. Henry's pension check was returned to Finance Division as it was declared she Mary E. Henry died May 5, 1919 It stated she was living in Fostoria Michigan. NOTES: The Day's are I think related to either the HENRY's or the Ramsdill's as they are buried in the Butler Twp., Cemetery as well are Mary E. and Ida and Geo. Ransford. I also think these Kidder brothers were in the war with John W. Henry and the Day's thus his being with them when he died in 1880 in TX. It is stated he is buried at 25 MILES North of Stonewall Tx.
