Where and when in Kansas? Do you have any more information on Isaac Henry? I have an Isaac Jones Henry who was born 25 April 1856 in Jackson Co., Iowa. I don¹t know where Isaac went but I do know his brother, Alphonse Henry(born @ 1851, Kane co., Illinois, ended up in Kansas. I think Isaac was married to Mary Grace ? And they had 11 children. Here are some misc. notes about Isaac's Kansas brother,Alphonse (how do you spell his name?) I found a reference to him in hand written family notes and they called him "Fonch". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Misc. The 1900 and 1910 Kansas Census says that Edith Henry is living with her uncle, Alphoso Henry (Alfonse, Alfonce or A. L.) and his wife, Sarah, in Bennington City, Ottawa Co., Kansas. Alfonso and Sarah Henry had children: Albert Leon born @1870-71 Illinois Rosa, born @1871-72 Illinois Samuel born @ 1874-75 Illinois Abraham, born @1877-78 Illinois Carie born @ 1880 Illinois Four of the children were alive in 1900. The 1880 Kansas Census says that Alphonso and Sarah Henry were living in Vicksburg Co., Jewel, Kansas. Edith, the neice, was born in 1892 in Kansas. Her father was born in Illinois and her mother was born in Kansas. I am wondering if Edith could be the daughter of Dewitt Clinton (Clint) Henry, born 1849 Kane co., Illinois. Clint had divorced his first wife in the early 1880s after he was last found in Clarkesville, Merrick co., Nebraska, for the 1880 Nebraska census. He is the only brother of Alfonso that I do not know much about. All his other brothers had children that I can account for. I would like to know where this Edith Henry came from. The 1930 Kansas Census says that Alphonso was 79 and living with his son, Albert Leon in Bennington City, Ottawa County, Kansas. Sarah had passed away between 1920 and 1930. Patti, I am looking for Joel Henry b. 1782. He is listed on the 1850 Census for Guilford Co. NC. There is a 623 in the upper r. hand corner which I assume is the page number. There is another number 312 three lines below the 623. There are numbers to the right of the names. They are 11 - 17 and very hard to read. They are listed as: Age Thomas Henry 23 Hannah C. Henry 64 James Henry 18 Joel Henry 65 Caroline Henry Odell 28 William Odell 26 Joel C. Odell 02 Thomas A. Odell 1/2 Hannah is probably Joels wife due to the closeness in age. Caroline is listed out of order by me. I found a family on the internet that had a lot of Joels listed, however this Joel was not one of them. If you have any info on this Joel I would appreciate it. Thanks, Carol C. Odell
As a suggestion, if your posting a query and wish help include as much info as possible. Personally my database is over 50,000 names (I started in 1975). I don't have the time to check for someone as William or John Henry who is born in a certain state. I just delete the message since I don't have time for numerous emails with questions back and forth. I have pages of common 1st names. Then there's the Sr., and Jr's. and some with a middle initial or name. Sometimes I don't locate info on siblings or a middle name, but have found a great tidbit that sometimes in the future assists me in linking to a family. When I research I end up in various states following a lead for my family branches. When I locate something for a related family name, I enter that info into my database. This could be from land records, obits, military records and etc. Hope this helps someone understand posting a query. Good Hunting to all. Patti
