I would love to have a descendant of the Shenandoah Henrys (and any other Henrys!) test in the Henry DNA project. Remember that my first title has PA to VA to East TN, and I am unable to change the title, but I have changed the description. Four test results have been returned, and three totally different groups have been shown so far! To sign up for the Henry DNA test click on the Henry link: Project Members Description Henry 9 The administrator is most familiar with several Henry lines .. Web Page results: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/HenryEastTNVAPAetc/ I have not added our last result yet which is another Western European haplotype. We now have three totally different Henry groups. Sorry for the title that seems to limit only to East TN, VA, and PA. I started the project with a specific local objective and now have expanded it to include all Henry lines. Doris Noland Parton Dandridge, TN
Diane... Actually, I should have said I'm trying to verify my connection to Moses. There are several User Family Trees on Ancestry.com that lists William and Nancy Henry with their children that matches the 1850 census in Salem, Warren Co., OH and list Moses Henry and Martha Maneary as the parents of William. However, I have yet to find a source that actually connects them. 1. Moses HENRY. Married Martha MANEARY. Children of Moses HENRY and Martha MANEARY are: + 2 i. Michael HENRY was born 15 FEB 1800 in Virginia. 3 ii. William HENRY was born ABT 1803. He married Nancy DOCTOR 21 JAN 1826 in Shenandoah County, Virginia, daughter of Martin DOCTOR and Amelia CAIN. She was born ABT 1804. 4 iii. Enoch HENRY. 5 iv. John HENRY. Thelma, What is the source document with the information on the connection between William and his father Moses? I too am of the Shenandoah Henry's but I am a descendent of Enoch Henry of Shenandoah Co., VA b. 1780, possibly (likely) Moses's brother (not proven yet). I believe they are both the son's of Moses Henry the Rev. War soldier of Shenandoah b. in 1754. You will also find that many other Henry's (Michael, etc.), Clifford's (Nancy Henry's Husband), and Tricky (Theodocia Henry's husband) families in Warren Co., OH were descendants of Moses and Martha. Nancy and Theodocia were daughters and married into these families. I do not believe Michael was Moses's natural son although he traveled to Warren Co. with Martha after Moses's death, but believe he was the base born son of Elizabeth Henry of Shenandoah who was bound out to Moses at the age of 5 yrs. The following is the official Patrick Henry site. On the right see the link to descendants. There are about 400 proven Patrick Henry descendants who belong to the organization. Only two of them are male Henrys. That is just the people who have applied and joined the descendant organization. Edith Poindexter is the caretaker for the site. http://www.redhill.org/ http://www.redhill.org/descendants.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: <rerush@earthlink.net> To: <HENRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 09, 2005 9:36 PM Subject: [HENRY] PATRICK HENRY DECENDANTS RELATED TO FREDERICK COUNTY VIRGINIA HENRYS > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: HENRY > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JRi.2ACEB/3243 > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for a complete listing of the descendants of Patrick Henry > (Gov of Va) born 29 May 1736 in Virginia. > > My quest is to determine if any of his descendants migrated to Warren > and/or Frederick Counties Virginia. > > Specifically I am trying to determine if Alfred Henry b. 1797 in Virginia > is related to Patrick. > > I believe that Alfred’s father was Nelson Henry. > > If someone has research to prove my Henry’s in Frederick County Virginia > are related to Patrick Henry or any other Henry family, I have a ton of > Henry data from Frederick County Virginia to share. > > Thanks, > > Dick > > > > > ==== HENRY Mailing List ==== > Use Subject-date-place for queries > Ex.
