    1. Francis HENRY b. Abt. 1768 d. 1824
    2. Douglas Garber
    3. In 1957 Dora Henry cast doubt on the conclusion that everyone (including me) had jumped to: that Francis HENRY of Poland, Ohio was son of Francis HENRY the elder who was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. Dora outlined the REED and BUCK collateral lines and their HENRY marriages. I identified as many of these as I could find and entered them into the "henrymac" database. Now I am finding that there were two separate collateral REED lines -- one originating in Lancaster/Chester Counties of PA and another coming to OH from New England and CT (as my HOPKINS line did). The database is downloadable and I'm posting updates every two weeks. Doug Garber --------------------------------- Discover Yahoo! Find restaurants, movies, travel & more fun for the weekend. "Rosa Henry" who also is identified as Rosa Quawnis and I have my lineage on Mehitable Eastman daughter of Chief "Hole in the sky" and "stands with Spirit" from canadian/new york border -these people were shifted all over the place, they ended up in Kansas with my Great Grandfather Judson Dewitt Matteson who refused to let the goverment move them off property he owned in Phillips county. They lived on his property along with remnants of a small band of Osage indians until the 1930's. So in an effort to make a long story shorter, if you have any of the following surnames in your lineage please let me know - I've been trying to do this for years and it is so frustrating, So I really appreciate your response! The following shows the sale of James Henry's land to his brother Samuel Henry of Harrisonburg, Rockingham Co. VA. The sale was in in 1814. Where did James and Elizabeth Green Henry go after they sold this land, or did they stay in Rockingham? If they moved, the area around Scioto, Ross Co., OH would be a possibility, as is East TN. None are major errors. These records were burned in a wagon during the Civil War, but later people could take them to the courthouse to record them again. As Samuel Henry was a merchant on the court house square and lived to a ripe old age, he took in the deeds that partained to his transactions/lands. Also the deeds of his brother John Henry who went to Jefferson Co. TN were taken in and recorded again. These are in books called Burnt Record Books in Rockingham Co. VA, and the Court House staff are very good about letting people view them, copy them, etc.
