I am new to this List, but not new to genealogy. I didn't see the FITZHENRY variation included, but this is as close as I could get to it. Is there any fellow FITZHENRY'S out there? There is very little information on the web for that surname. My gr-gr-grandmother is Mary Fitzhenry b. 7 July 1856 in Ireland, she died in 1945 in Philadelphia. Her parents are Thomas FITZHENRY and Catherine KINSELLA. Mary immigrated to the U.S. in 1860 according to the 1900 Census. This is all I have found out about her. She was married to Patrick Maguire(1849 Ire.-1887 Phila) about 1875. They had the following children all born in Philadelphia: Thomas P. Maguire b.1876, d. 1904 Sarah (known as Sadie) Maguire b.1879, d.1956 Dennis Joseph Maguire b. 1881, d.1971 Katherine (known as Katie) Maguire b.1884, d.1986 Philip Maguire b.1886, d.1887 Does anyone recognize this family? Patrick and Mary are my brick walls. I could use any help at all. Thanks, Karen Howland

Robert Henry's son, Samuel was born about 1755 in Charlotte Co. VA. My gg grandfather was a Samuel L. Henry, born in Scott Co. Ky in 1801 and his father was John Todd Henry, one of the sons of the Rev. Robert. I am not aware of other Samuels which came down through the line from Rev. Robert, but it would not surprise me if there were some as they used the same first names over and over throughout the generations. The Samuel you mention could be related, although I'd need to know more about his ancestry. Thanks for your message.

Robert Henry, pastor of Cub Creek Church in Charlotte Co. VA. I believe he came from Scotland about 1740, attended Princton Theological Seminary, then moved to VA where he became pastor of the Cub Creek Presb. church. Married Jean Caldwell. He died in 1767 and is buried there. His children would include Samuel, Daniel, Jane (or Jean), William, Robert, Sally, and John Todd Henry all who migrated to various counties in Kentucky in the early 1800's. Some descendants ended up in Boone Co. Missouri. Anyone have any leads on Rev. Robert Henry's Scotish ancestry or other descendants of this family? J. Anderson

Later last night I found a message you had posted for someone else on how to search for family files. And I did last night, I think I ran into 348 different files containing Alexander Henry. Do you know of any file that is more all encompassing than the others? Well I was swamped with the overload of finding so many files. Including a great many who consider Patrick, the patriot, to be George Lafayette Henry's father. Eventually, I downloaded a GEDCOM which indicated that my James Rutherford and Susan Henry according to family tradition had moved to Alabama and were never heard from again. I have extensive information on the descendants of James and Susan Rutherford. Do you have an interest in this line? tom [email protected]
