Does this fit with anything you have?

Unfortunately I have not followed this side of my family very much. I believe your Seth to be the brother of my Narsissa,"Sissy" McGowan. After they were born their mother died and they got a step mother, along with several sibblings. Sissy and her new step mother did not get along and she married at age 16. My Great grandmother Sissy lived until 1959. She lacked about a year and a month being 100 years old. She could not read or write but had an excellent mind. One story she told about her and her brother was that when they were little they went swimming and as they played in the creek, bark from a tree begin to fall in the water. Sissy was sure her brother was somehow playing a prank. Both children got out of the water and after looking up spotted a panther in the tree. Needless to say they ran home fast. She was a wonderful, peculiar old lady. I am sorry I do not know about Seth other than he was her only full sibling. She always thought of him as her only real family. I don't have her family line in front of me but I have it because she told my mother and she wrote it down for her. My mom taught her how to write her first name, at some point and it was the only word she ever knew to write. Oh, I can give you one family line for Seth. Peter Jr. 1789, McConnelsburg, Fulton Co., PA, wife - Margaret John 24 Aug 1784 McConnelsburg, Fulton Co. PA wife Elizabeth Immel died - Upperturkeyfood, Somerset Co, PA These were both sent in by Linda Hinkley. Her email has been changed. Please, if you know how to contact her, have her contact me.     3. Isham is not in any naming pattern for any Hendry or Henry's I have. It's an unusual given name which may come from the maternal side. With one ancestor I wondered where the name Russell came from, since it did not appear in my line. His maternal great uncle resided in the next county, this led me to the county in NC they all migrated from. I located another uncle Russell, from there I was able to trace the branch back their emigration from Wales in the late 1600's. A month ago I located another maternal branch using the same method. Naming patterns are extremely helpful. Patti Is there any known connection between this family and the family of ISHAM HENRY, whose estate was settled in Richmond Co., NC, in 1844? There is speculation that Isham was of the Hendry family. He was probably born about 1765 and several members of his family settled in Anson Co., NC. My ancestor is his son Jesse Henry who married Jane (Jenny) Courtney, daughter of John Courtney and Nancy Ann Threadgill of Anson. Any help will be appreciated. Michael Motes
