Here is some supporting information. I'm looking for the family of James Henry who was born November, 1783 in Fayette County, PA. He married Fannie McMaster in Feb.1812 and had 12 children, most of them born in Crawford County, PA. Here is an excerpt from a biography written about him: "Colonel Henry was a native of Fayette Co. PA but farmed in Crawford Co. He took part in the War of 1812 and was later a Colonel in the Pennsylvania State Militia Regiment. He also represented his district for 3 terms in the state legislature. In 1850, Col.Henry moved from Crawford County, PA because of an epidemic in the area and came to Princeville, IL with his family, as he was a man of some means. He lived a retired life once coming here until his death at 84 years. Colonel Henry was preceded to Illinois by several years by his sons William, John Martin and Robert Henry. Henry's parents who probably would have been born between 1831 and 1833. He was a farmer in Crawford County PA in the 1880 Census, and is my husband's great grandfather. John A. Henry married Caroline E. Frantz, and had 4 children, and my husband's grandmother was Elizabeth Hannah Henry who was born in PA between 1885 and 1887. " It's possible that James Henry's father spelled his name HENREY, since we've found several possibles in Fayette Co, including a James Henrey from Dunbar Township and a John Henrey from Tyrone Township.     3. Kathleen, I am not a descendant of Patrick Henry, but I am researching the family of Sarah Shelton, his first wife. One of his descendants wrote a 3 volume set of books containing all his speeches and letters, back in the 1890's and Volume II has a genealogy of his descendants in the appendix. Unfortunately, I've only wrote down and typed up the lineage down from his first wife, but the larger lineage from his second marriage is also listed in the book. I've included what is given about his first marriage below. You should check with your library and state archives to see if they have this old 3 volume set. Hope this helps. Robert C. The only record we have of him is a delayed birth certificate application from his son Samuel Julien Henry stating James Henry was 31 when he died. He was married to a Margaret Lowry, Nov. 14, 1863 in Portrush, Ireland. His father's name was John Henry (that narrows it down a lot, right?) His children were Ann Jane Henry (called Jenny), b. Dec. 25 1863 in Portrush; son Samuel Julien Henry, b. March 13 1867 in Cass County, Michigan. James died in 1867 in Cass County, Michigan. Any info such as birth or parentage would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
