It's possible he wasn't born in Fayette County but grew up there. If your John Henry was "foreign born", do you know where that was ? Do you know who John Henry's parents were ? If either of us could trace our people back one more generation, we might be able to figure out if they were connected. So far, I've hit a stone wall, so it's certainly possible that they were 1st generation immigrants. mel slane

Here is an excerpt from his bio: "Colonel Henry was a native of Fayette Co. PA but farmed in Crawford Co. He took part in the War of 1812 and was later a Colonel in the Pennsylvania State Militia Regiment. He also represented his district for 3 terms in the state legislature. In 1850, Col.Henry moved from Crawford County, PA because of an epidemic in the area and came to Princeville, IL with his family, as he was a man of some means. He lived a retired life once coming here until his death at 84 years. Colonel Henry was preceded to Illinois by several years by his sons William, John Martin and Robert Henry. " We haven't been able to trace our Henry family any further back than James. Looking for any information on where this family comes from. mel slane

I'm wondering if we might have a distant connection. I had Henrys in Marlow and Stoddard, who had at least one daughter who married and moved to Charleston in the late 1700's early 1800's. John and Sarah Henry had children John Jr., Sara, Azuba, Bani, Ziba, Rhoda and Anna. Some of them settling in that area. I would be interested in hearing from you.

From there to Wellsboro, PA, to West Brooklyn, Ill, and finally to Neosho Falls, KS where my son and I were born. We have 6 David Henry's in descending order from c. 1800. The earliest pictures I have are some tintypes from the 1850's? There are several families of Henrys in Kansas but we are the only ones settling in Woodson County. I wonder if any of the pictures you have could be a connection?
