May 23 1907, a Campbell County attorney, Basil Duke Henderson, was found dead alongside the railroad tracks near California. The coroner ruled the death as accidental. It seems Henderson had taken a skiff across the river, had been drinking and then had returned to the Kentucky side of the river. The coroner speculated he accidentally wandered in front of a passing train. A broken whisky bottle was found near the body. I believe Basil is the son of Amon & Emily Laycock Henderson, Basil was born in Ohio date unknown if this person sounds familar please contact me.
