Hi all Is there anyone researching their "HENDERSON" name in N Ireland? Specifically in or near the townland of Drumbulcan, in County Fermanagh. The time frame would be 1700's (mid). My HENDERSONs lived there and my Anne Henderson b 1754 married James Copeland b 1750. James was born near Smithborough in County Monaghan. Would be interested in corresponding with anyone who is researching there HENDERSONs. Sue in NY **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. Hi Sue, I have HENDERSON ancestors very near there. William and Mary (KERR) HENDERSON, and his brother, Samuel HENDERSON, and his wife, were born in County Sligo, Ireland, in the 1780's. That county is near the border. They married there and had their first couple of children there, and then were part of a family-group who migrated to Canada in 1823-1824. The other members of the group were: Patrick and Elizabeth (KERR?) KERR, Miss Elizabeth KERR (who married in Canada), and John and Ann (HENDERSON) KERR. They settled in the Prov. of Quebec, and Argenteuil County, and they all had many children, and thus had many descendants. There are many people researching them, and none of us can find out who the parents were back in County Sligo. With no known parents and siblings, we don't know how these people directly connected. We also don't know which part of County Sligo they lived in, but I suspect they were in the northern part of the County, possibly in or near the Calry Parish. And, we don't know how long they were in County Sligo. They could have very easily moved down there from County Fermanagh in the mid-1700's. The people in the family-group were all born in the 1780 to 1805 timeframe in the northern part of County Sligo. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) P.S. My gr-gr-grandparents, Robert KERR and Elizabeth HENDERSON were born in the Prov. of Quebec in 1827. They were assumedly cousins, and they married there and had their 5 children there. Around 1860 they moved down to Compton County, and then most of the members of the family moved down to Massachusetts. P.S.2 Elizabeth's sister also married and migrated to US, but she and her husband moved to the very northern part of VT. Later they also came down to MA and settled near the Worcester area. I can't think of their names at this second, but I can retrieve it from archives of Lists. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Soopy46@aol.com> To: <HENDERSON@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 04, 2008 11:52 AM Subject: [HENDERSON] Henderson in Ireland > Hi all > Is there anyone researching their "HENDERSON" name in N Ireland? > Specifically in or near the townland of Drumbulcan, in County Fermanagh. > The time > frame would be 1700's (mid). > > My HENDERSONs lived there and my Anne Henderson b 1754 married James > Copeland b 1750.
