In 1871 census he's a 7yr old living with his parents William & Sarah Ann, by 1881 he's disappeared. No census record, no marriage or death record for Kane (tried Cain too). Did he join the army/navy, or did he emigrate? In the early 1900s Phyllis Henderson (Kane's niece, born abt 1892 Birmingham, England) left for ?USA, ??British Columbia, to stay with a relative. Kane would be in his 40s by then, did she go to stay with him? Family story is that Phyllis married a Dutchman, & ended up living in Washington (State, ? DC), maybe in Spokane. She had several children & fostered many more. Any information very gratefully received, as I've hit a wall trying to find Kane & Phyllis. Regards, Ellie
