Charles R. “Bob” Henderson, age 78, of Route 3, (Haymond Community) Grafton, West Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born in Haymond, West Virginia on May 5, 1929, a son of the late Charles Nicholas Henderson and Marjory May (McKinney) Henderson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lula B. “Lou” (Tichenor) Henderson who passed away on June 4, 2006. Surviving Mr. Henderson are five children, Marge McNutt and husband Gary McNutt of Aspermont, Texas, Bobby Henderson, Jr. of Vienna, West Virginia, Debra Ford of Fairmont, West Virginia, Danny Henderson and wife Cindy Henderson of Ft. Pierce, Florida, and Robyn Dahl and husband Tim Dahl of Anchorage, Alaska. Four stepchildren, Kay Retheford and husband Steve Retheford of Orion, Illinois, Darrell “Rocky” Loughry and wife Kathy Loughry of Grafton, West Virginia, Brenda Sloan and husband Rick Sloan of Grafton, West Virginia, and Susan Fey and husband Mike Frey of Moatsville, West Virginia. Twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. One sister, Marjory Ballard and husband Jim Ballard of Grafton, West Virginia. Two brothers, Bill Henderson and wife Lorraine Henderson of Philippi, West Virginia, and Jim Henderson and companion Detta Wadda of Denver, Colorado. One uncle, T.M. “Pete” Henderson of Fairmont, West Virginia. One aunt, Gertrude “Tuddy” Shaffer of Grafton, West Virginia. Mr. Henderson is also survived by his companion, Pauline Lewis of Fairmont, West Virginia and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Henderson was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of Grafton, West Virginia. He was a conductor for the B&O Railroad Company in Grafton and he retired in 1986 with 37-years of service. He was a member of Grafton Lodge #15 A.F.&A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Clarksburg, Osiris Shrine Center of Wheeling and the Taylor County Shrine Club. The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Fiscus officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton. I have no genealogical connections with the deceased. This has been posted solely for genealogical purposes.
