My GGGfather Atwill? Henderson was to have served during the Mexican War [1848-1848]. It has been the family story that he died at sea in the Gulf of Mexico but, I haven't found anything to verrify by that name. He was m. to Mary Foreman and had two sons born in NC, Atwill (Atwell) Henderson b.1844 and Russell Henderson b,1846. Just wondering if you might have a similar senerio with some of your Henderson line. I also have noticed a marked family resemblance between your James Pickney Henderson and my GGfather Atwill Henderson. I will email you direct and send a jpeg and let you compair for yourself. On the Irish line of Henderson's it is my contention that the line was originated from Scottland and was established during the Scottish occupation of Irland by Robert the Bruce. Does that sound logical?
