Delaware, March 25. 1864. Forward to Charleston, SC, August 20, 1864. Transferred to Ft. Pulaski, GA, Oct. 21, 1864. On roll, Ft. Pulaski, Dec. 26, 1864. Rec'd at Ft. Delaware, March 12, 1865. Enlisted as SGT, July 1, 1861, in Co. G, 3rd NC Inft., in Onslow Co., NC. Promoted to 1SGT, Sept. 1, 1862. Wounded at Gettysburg, July 2, 1863; gunshot wound thigh; captured July 4-5, 1863; confined at DeCamp Gen.Hospital, Davids Island, NY Harbor, until exchanged at City Point, VA. Sept. 8, 1863. Appointed 2LT, to rank from Sept. 16, 1863. Captured at Spotsylvania, C.H., May 12, 1864. Rec'd at Ft. Delaware from Belle Plain, May 17, 1864. Forward to Charleston, SC, August 20, 1864. Son of Thomas Henderson, farmer. 1860 census: Palo Alto PO, Onslow Co., NC; farm laborer; living w/parents. Enlisted as SGT, May 15, 1862, in Co. H "Humphrey Troop", 3rd NC Cav. in Onslow Co., NC. Appt'd 1LT, Dec 10, 1862. Captured near Greenville, NC, Dec. 17, 1863. Rec'd at PT Lookout form Norfolk, VA Dec. 29, 1863. Transferred to Ft. Delaware June 23, 1864. Forward to Charleston, SC, August 20, 1864. Transferred to Ft. Pulaski, GA Oct. 21, 1864. Sent to Hilton Head, Nov. 19, 1864. On roll, Hilton Head, Jan 1, 1865. Rec'd at Ft. Delaware, March 12, 1865.
