I believe myself to be descended from the Edward Henderson said to be a son of Richard Henderson sometimes known as Richard the Sheriff, (but I have no idea why.) This Edward had a proved brother Richard and presumed brothers Nathanial and Samuel. And some say a Leonard, but I have never found him. This Edward's probable sons were Charles and Edward Henderson of Southside VA, Halifax Co., which is on the NC line quite close to Nutbush Creek in Granville. There may have been a sister Christian who married James Trevilion and also moved to Granville. Edward's brothers Richard Nathaniel and Samuel all left Wills naming children. Edward disappeared and left nothing that I have found. His wife is unknown and only supposed children are Charles and Edward. Charles, b. c. 1738, and Edward b. 1746. This Edward had a son Edward b. c. 1785, who married a Clark in Halifax Co. 1807. Oddly, Charles had no sons named either Edward or Charles. The names Edward and Charles were carried on in the line of Nathaniel of Granville. I have virtually given up on this mess, as has nearly everyone else. I keep hoping there is some clue out there yet to be found.
