Some Hendersons are listed in the following. From: "James Slone" <jimslone@knology.net> To: TNGREENE-L@rootsweb.com That's me with the Old Ledger. Check out http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/latvia/101/OLindex.html If you go to one of the index pages, you will find some page numbers underlined. These are the pages I have transcribed so far (I'm slow, I'll admit). If you click on a page number that is underlined, it will take you to the page. Let me know if you find an account you want me to transcribe. It will take me a little while, but I'll do it for you. Jim Slone >From the Page: An old ledger has been passed down through my family for several generations. I don't know the source of it, but it appears to be from a trading post or general store somewhere in Greeneville or Greene County. The accounts cover a period from 1815 to 1820, and many of them mention the names of Greene County's early settlers. We plan to donate the ledger to the McClung Collection in Knoxville, in hopes that they can provide a suitable environment for its preservation and research. In the meantime, however, it certainly has value to genealogists. We are therefore posting an index to the names in the ledger, and hope to transcribe its contents before turning it over to the McClung Collection.Genealogists: Please don't expect a wealth of information. Most of the entries are "Mdse per Day Book" and "Paid in full per Day Book." However, there are a few tidbits that make it worthwhile. For example, a comment above the account of William Brown identifies him as "Jotham's Brother." This may be of interest to Brown researchers.
