Just stumbled upon an incredible site, one that answered a question that I was trying to research about a month or so ago. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission hosts a Debt of Honor Register where you can find war graves records from WWI and WWII. I did a search on my one known British war fatality, and sure enough, there he was, with the date I had him as dying on, his rank and unit, and (a unique feature for him, not shown on all entries) a note that he was the son of William and Mary Ratcliffe and husband of C.M Ratcliffe (I know his wife was Clementina Mary) and where she was living at the time of his death. This will surely help those who have names that they are trying to place from the two World Wars. -- Douglas Flummer Carbondale, Illinois "You will ever remember that all the end of study is to make you a good man and a useful citizen. This will ever be the sum total of the advice of your affectionate father." -- John Adams, in a letter to John Quincy Adams, 1781
