Surnames: HENDERSON, JONES Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yNi.2ACEB/4129 Message Board Post: Jonathan Henderson is on the 1810 Pendleton Dist., SC census with young children. He (probably the same Jonathan) next appears on the Knox Co KY tax rolls in 1825. A few years later William, Edward, Charles, James, and Christopher also appear. My ancestor is James M and he married Charlotte Jones in Clay Co KY in 1832...and they left soon after for Indiana and then to MO in 1837 where they became Mormons. Their children William, John, and my ancestor, Eunice. Charlotte died in 1840 in Nauvoo IL and James remarried to a Rachel Judd and then he died in 1845 and Rachel raised the children for several years. Her statement made to a friend was "a brother of my Henderson husband came and got the children and took them to California". Does anyone have a Knox Co Henderson who went to CA...Rachel said that he and his wife had two children...a boy and a girl. Bonny McDaniel
