At least, I have not heard of him with that name. I know my J. C. was in the militia but he had moved to TX by that time - but he could have been in MO during the war. I have not heard about an injury. Did your Frances die from the injury? I know my J. C. lived until 1893 and is buried in OK. The thing that is really curious for me is the Briscoe name. My J.C.'s second wife was Nancy Jane Briscoe who came from MO. Is the Briscoe farm you mentioned in MO? There were alot of Briscoes in TX - they all came from MO. I am corresponding with a decendant of the Briscoe line. Would be glad to get you two together. I also have alot of info on his family because I have been trying to help him research it.
