PORTER, We may have a connection. Was just plowing thru the Henderson's on Rootsweb and found your post. Not sure but we seem to have some similar folks, similar dates. Have not done much work on this family line so let me just tell you what I do have. Charles M. Henderson and Lona had several children and migrated around in their time within Georgia, Alabama. I believe Lona (or whatever her actual name was....I have seen Malona may have been part Cherokee Indian). I have went back as far as 1900 Census with some certainty just over this past weekend. Children are as listed below with approx. dates. Annie May April 1900 A. J. 1903 Luther 6 Sept 1906 D Aug 1984 in Chiefland, Levy Co. FL Ruby 1908 Obie 3 July 1909 D July 1987 Brunswick, GA Grady 1912 Webster 14 April 1914 D Nov 25 1997 Phoenix City, AL Madie Fern 1917 Randolph Oct 11(?) 1918 D Sept 1 1997 Hillsborough, FL Eddie 1921 Ernest Melvin 28 August 1923 D 26 October 2001 Brunswick, GA I can remember Obie, visited him and boarded his shrimp boat. I knew Ernest Melvin quite well as he was my father in law for some years. Ernest Melvin also had a few other surviving sons whom I have their names and approx. locals from Ernest's obit. The Henderson's are not known to be good communicators. Went to many family reunions and remember Ruby. At the time of Ernest Melvin's death, his sister Madie was still alive as Madie Hudson and living in Warner Robbins, GA Let me know if this is even close to what you know of your line. Have just a bit more I can provide if you would like, and welcome any collection of other information you may have or remember. I am going to make an effort to leave my two Henderson children some trail of their roots in the event they become interested one day down the road. Email me direct if you like, your email address is not a working address at this time for me. Joyce
