I only came upon your ancestry of Davis recently. I had been looking for that for a long time. You have his parents as Daniel Williams and Ann Henderson. I had concluded his father was Jefferson Williams, but on the very thin evidence that in 1801 Davis sold land in Edgefield Distr., SC, that had originally belonged to Jefferson Davis (whose wife was Frances, and Davis named children both Jefferson and Frances; and Martha Stringer also named a son Jefferson). My main question then is, How certain is the evidence that Davis's father was Daniel? By the way, I have three more children of Davis, born 1807-1811. My wife's connection is from Davis's daughter Rhoda, who married Morris Gwyn. They moved to Fayette Co., AL, where their track is clear to the present (my wife came from there).
