He was born September 9, 1917 to the late Sank and Hannah Ruffin Henderson in Black Rock, Arkansas. Clarence departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2008. He was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church until his demise. Clarence was a retiree of Bridgestone Firestone with 37 years of service in 1981. He was preceded in death by parents, Sank and Hannah Ruffin Henderson; sons, Sanka Lee and James Henderson; sisters, Florence Henderson and Irene Brown of Lansing, Mich.; granddaughter, Beverly L. Beasley; son-in-law, John L. Roper, Jr., both of Akron, Ohio. He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters, Erlene Mosely of Akron, Ohio, Rowena L. Burke of Jackson, Miss., and Tanya R. Roper of Akron, Ohio; sons, Cecil Duckworth of Akron, Ohio, and Manuel P. (Sharon) Henderson of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren; thee great-grandchildren; nephew, Bobby (Jessie) Brown of Lansing, Mich.; and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Stewart and Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307. Interment at Glendale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until time of service.
