My HENDERSON ancestor came from the northern part of County Sligo, Ireland, which is near the border with County Leitrim. And, County Leitrim borders on County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. (I have an old Encyclopedia (books) where I can look at a map.) I know very little on Ireland's history; I have to keep looking things up. But, I would guess that families could have moved back and forth between these counties during the 1700's. Within the past few days, I was told that finding the parents of my HENDERSON and KERR ancestors in County Sligo in the 1700's -- would be nearly impossible ! So, the many people researching them have no way of knowing, also, who their siblings were (or cousins). Sad to hear that.
