There was a Gustavus Henderson at Tinkling Springs about the same time along with McCalls and Harris' who moved on down from there because of Indian troubles and eventually made their way to South Carolina on the Pee Dee River. There was also a Michael Henderson who was baptized there about the same time. I'm looking for Michael. A Daniel Henderson also showed up in Screven County, GA after the Revolution along with Michael Henderson and the McCalls who had been in South Carolina. Does any of this match? Or have I combined too many families? I have often wondered if Daniel was a brother to Michael Henderson. Daniel Henderson, a later generation I'm sure, married a Martha Hanna in Screven County, GA around the 1820's, and died not too long thereafter. And then they show up in South Georgia. I have a Henderson ancestor that I can place in Augusta county as early as 1744, but I am certain that he was there earlier (a minor). My ancestor is Daniel Henderson with children baptized at Tinkling Springs Church (as early as 1744). He gets a land patent in 1761. My gut feeling is that he was a minor living on his father's farm before this, but as yet, I cannot find anything. Have you been able to chase any of those Hendersons forward in time, as I am stuck going backward in 1744? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
