You'll want to check our website at http://chateauguay.website.epidirect.com/<http://chateauguay.website.epidirect.com/>. We are part of the family which consisted of seven children, Henry (1803), Robert (1804), Samuel (1806), William (1809), Thomas (1812), James (1822), and Mary Ann (1823), their father, William (1776), and mother, Mary (1875) and one who may have been the grandfather, John (1731). We have a file of about 250 Hendersons all descendents of that tree. We'd be very happy to receive anything at all that you may have on this family, like the ship that they sailed on and the earlier history in Ireland. Anything at all, please. We have the arrival date to the Gore in SW Lower Canada, (now Quebec) as 1829, not 1823. Same people? Shirley Henderson. Thank you for posting this. One of my ancestors was William HENDERSON who arrived in Canada in 1823; his brother, Samuel HENDERSON, was with him. They were part of a family-group of KERR's and HENDERSON's arriving from Co. Sligo, Ireland. They had many descendants. I don't know if any of their descendants moved down to Michigan, but I can check one of the data bases. William's family remained in Quebec Province, but Samuel's family moved over to Ontario Province maybe in the 1840's. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) P.S.
