They are listed on the Bolivar County 1920 census with their children Frank, Lucile, Sample, Sadie, Shuford, Bishop, and Alfred. In the 1920 they were living on the SMITH and LOMBARD Plantation. In the 1900 census they were living in Panola County MS and the following are listed: Green, Dora, Sample b. 12/1892, Virgie b. 2/1895, Idel b. 8/1896, Ethan b. 9/1899. In the 1870 census Green is listed as 9. His mother is Eliza aged 27 and a maid. Green's father may have been William. They may have lived on property owned by J. D. WOODRUFF of South Carolina. The only relatives that I know from my father's family is him Green(named after his grandfather), his sister, Louise, and a first cousin, Leonard ROBERSON. How can I find out more information about Green and Dora HENDERSON and whether they are related in some way to the WOODRUFF family. Some of my family members are so fair skinned that it hard to de! termine that they are black. I am trying to trace the family back either to slavery or my white ancestors. Also I am trying to find any of the descendants of Green and Dora HENDERSON's children. Anyone related or willing to help in any way please e-mail me at tomhudso@sprynet.com.(Expired) My father, James Sanders HENDERSON(b.3/24/1922), is the son of Ethan HENDERSON(b.1899) and Mattie Hoskins(b.1905). Per their marraige certificate (m. 9/18/1921) and my father's birth certificate, Ethan's name is also spelled Ether, Ethel and Ehtel. Ethan reportedly moved to Missouri to begin a new life 3 months before my father was born. My dad, however, did keep in contact with his aunts and uncles somewhat over the years. So, Pauline, I hope you can find me! Any information would be a delight! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
