If you are a descendant of George Henderson, who married Alice Victoria Harrald,in Ontario Canada, I have a lot of family information for you I may have a picture of George Henderson as a teenager. He was born 23 January 1875 in Dunns Berwickshire Scotland to Donald Henderson, shoemaker, and Ann Aitchison. I have his birth record, from a year and a half ago; I just found his marriage record, and his death record this week. I also have his military record for WW 1 which I also found this week. All these items add up. I just discovered him about 1 1/2 years ago, when I was doing some family history for my Dad. This particular George Henderson is either an Uncle or a brother to my Grandfather, John Henderson Kirby, who was born in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland, in 1880 to a lady named Violet Henderson. I have a lot more information about the pedigree of the Hendersons and the Aitchisons. Thank You. Lois K. Parry Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Searching for info on these families. Surnames: Crawford, Wilson, Henderson, Harper Places: Northern Ireland, County Tyrone and Londonderry(Derry) and Concord, MA Searching for Aaron Crawford ancestors in Ulster, NI in 17th and 18th century. Doubtless they were Presbyterian as the families came to NI during the Ulster Plantation of King James in the early 17th century from Scotland, probably Ayrshire. Aaron was born 1677 in Cappaugh Parish, County Tyrone; died 1754 in Rutland, Worcester County, MA, USA. Came to Boston, MA about 1712-1718, moved to Rutland, MA about 1723. Aaron's father may have been John Crawford. Aaron married Agnes Wilson about 1700 in County Tyrone, possibly in Ardstraw Village. Agnes was born in 1678 in Cappaugh Parish and died in 1760 in Rutland, MA. Searching for data on Agnes's parents(Wilson). Their son, Alexander Crawford, born 1710 in Cappaugh Parish, County Tyrone, moved to Rutland with his parents. Alexander married Elizabeth Crawford in 1735/36 in Rutland, MA. John and Isabelle had a son, Samuel Crawford, born in 1696 in Menamor, County Londonderry; died in 1770 in Oakham, MA. Samuel married Sarah Moore in 1735, NI. Searching for details on Elizabeth's ancestors(Crawford). Alexander's son, John Crawford, was born 1738/39 in Rutland, MA. He married Rachel Henderson in 1759 in Rutland, MA. What a sad, tragic story. It makes me wonder why this girl, Minnie, became available for adoption. I wonder if she had "mental health issues" even as a very young child. Out of curiousity, I went to the 1880 census for Michigan/US, and found out there were 35 James HENDERSON's in Michigan that year. And, this is the family being discussed: James HENDERSON Self M Male W 39 ENG Horse Teester SCOT SCOT Merinda HENDERSON Wife M Female W 32 PA Keeping House PA PA Ray HENDERSON Son S Male W 1 MI ENG PA Minnie HENDERSON Dau S Female W 10 PA PA PA Mary J. HEMMINGWAY Other S Female W 47 NH Teaching School NH NH Mary A. GLEASON Other S Female W 20 MI Teaching School CAN NH -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source Information: Census Place 2nd Ward, Manistee, Manistee, Michigan NOTES: It says that Minnie came from a PA family and she was born there. And, James' wife, Merinda, came from a PA family and was born there. I wonder whether Millie is a niece of Merinda. Or, perhaps, Merinda had a first marriage and Millie was a daughter from her first marriage. Also note that James was born in England and his parents were born in Scotland. So, this was a HENDERSON family from the U.K. in the 1800's. There is another HENDERSON family living near them. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This spring Mr. Henderson's cow died, and her milk just previous to her death killed nine pigs. The girl confesses she poisoned the cow because she did not want to milk it. Mr. Henderson's house was set on fire five times in one day a few weeks ago, and the girl confesses she did that, too. Mr. Henderson's baby died suddenly, and the girl confesses she smothered it because it cried and she did not want the trouble to care for it. She is 18 years old, and was adopted 15 years ago. I am not related to this family, just passing on this information which comes from a website called "Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan Newspaper Birth, Marriage and Death Notices."
